The basic software packages of the iCub software can be easily installed using the [https://github.com/robotology/robotology-superbuild robotology-superbuild].  
In particular, they are contained in the [https://github.com/robotology/robotology-superbuild#profile-cmake-options core profile] of the superbuild, that is enabled by default.
 
To install the robotology-superbuild in macOS, follow the macOS instructions in [https://github.com/robotology/robotology-superbuild#macos robotology-superbuild documentation].
