PC104 Upgrade

From Wiki for iCub and Friends
Jump to: navigation, search

These instructions assume you have internet connection on the laptop shipped with the robot (if the laptop does not have internet connection it should not be difficult to adapt these instructions anyway).

Contents

Updating the laptop repositories

Move away old repositories and get new ones

Open a shell on the laptop.

  cd /exports/code-64
  mv iCub iCub.cvs
  mv yarp2 yarp2.cvs
  svn co https://yarp0.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/yarp0/trunk/yarp2
  svn co svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/robotcub/code/trunk/iCub

Compile the code

$ICUB_ROOT and $YARP_ROOT now point to the new repositories. Compilation follows the same rules specified in the manual, just follow instruction in ICub_Software_Installation (choose Linux: installation from sources).

Updating the pc104 repositories

Move away old repositories and get new ones

Open a shell on the laptop.

  cd /exports/code-pc104
  mv iCub iCub.cvs
  mv yarp2 yarp2.cvs
  svn co https://yarp0.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/yarp0/trunk/yarp2
  svn co svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/robotcub/code/trunk/iCub

Important: at this point you don't have to compile.

Get a new usb image

Follow instructions in Section 9.1 ("Update the usb key on your pc104").

Boot the new image.

Get new startup scripts

Open a shell on the laptop. Get scripts from the local repository:

  cp $ICUB_ROOT/pc104/startupscripts/opencall/hooks/* /exports/code-pc104/pc104/hooks -r

Compile the code on the pc104

Open a shell on the pc104:

  ssh pc104

Now $ICUB_ROOT and $YARP_ROOT point to the new repositories. Follow compilation instructions in Section 6.6 of the manual.
